Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour to form a soft dough. Knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For the cream cheese frosting, beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Spread over warm cinnamon rolls and serve.
