  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup espresso, brewed and cooled
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  4. Slowly stir in boiling water and brewed espresso until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  7. Once cool, layer the cakes with salted caramel sauce between them and on top.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
  • Let the cake cool completely before adding the caramel for the best results.
