Ingredients

  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 3 ounces turkey bacon
  • 3 ounces chicken ham
  • 1/4 cup sauerkraut
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons thousand island dressing
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, toast the rye bread on one side until golden brown.
  3. On the untoasted side of one slice, layer the turkey bacon, chicken ham, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese.
  4. Spread thousand island dressing on the other slice of bread, then place it on top, dressing side down.
  5. Butter the outside of the sandwich and cook in the skillet over medium heat until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted, flipping once.
  6. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a bit of dill relish.
  • Serve with a side of pickles for a classic touch.
