- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef roast on all sides until browned.
- Transfer the beef to a slow cooker. Add beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and shreds easily.
- Remove the beef from the slow cooker, shred it with two forks, and return it to the sauce to soak up the flavors.
- Toast the hamburger buns and fill them with the pulled beef.
- Serve with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
- Great with coleslaw on top for added crunch.
