Ingredients

  • 4 ripe plantains
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Peel the plantains and cut them into chunks.
  2. Boil the plantains in salted water until tender.
  3. Drain and mash the plantains in a bowl.
  4. Add the grated cheese, flour, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and egg to the mashed plantains, and mix well.
  5. Form the mixture into small balls.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  7. Fry the plantain balls until golden brown on all sides.
  8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with a dipping sauce of your choice.
