- 4 ripe plantains
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 egg
- 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Peel the plantains and cut them into chunks.
- Boil the plantains in salted water until tender.
- Drain and mash the plantains in a bowl.
- Add the grated cheese, flour, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and egg to the mashed plantains, and mix well.
- Form the mixture into small balls.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the plantain balls until golden brown on all sides.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
Notes
- Serve with a dipping sauce of your choice.
- Can be made ahead of time and reheated.
