- 1 package phyllo dough
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 4 strips turkey bacon
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, add onion and garlic, cooking until soft.
- Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Stir in spices and chicken broth.
- Crumble the cooked turkey bacon and mix in.
- Layer phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with olive oil.
- Add the turkey mixture, then cover with more phyllo layers, brushing with oil.
- Brush the top with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, you can substitute the turkey with lentils.
- Make sure the phyllo dough is thawed before use.
