- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 and ½ cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 and ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 and ½ teaspoons baking soda

- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Slowly incorporate the boiling water into the batter until smooth.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- For the frosting, beat together the peanut butter, softened butter, and powdered sugar until creamy.
- Frost the cooled cake layers with peanut butter frosting and stack them.
- Decorate with additional frosting as desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- Store any leftover cake in an airtight container.
