- 1 cup lentils
- 1 cup rice
- 4 cups water
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Rinse the lentils and rice under cold water.
- In a pot, combine lentils and water, then bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add rice, cumin, and salt; cook until rice is done.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and fry onions until golden and crispy.
- Serve the Mujadara topped with crispy onions.

- For extra flavor, sauté garlic with the onions.
