Ingredients

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 16 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur.
  3. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, then start layering them at the bottom of individual cups.
  4. Add a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top of the ladyfingers.
  5. Repeat the layers until the cups are filled, finishing with the mascarpone layer.
  6. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
  7. Dust the top with cocoa powder just before serving.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the coffee liqueur.
  • These can be made a day in advance for convenience.
