- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Pour batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding lemon zest or almond extract.
- This cake can be served with fresh fruit or whipped cream.
