Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter.
  4. Add baking soda and salt, then mix well.
  5. Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
  6. Mix in the flour, just until the flour disappears.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  8. Pour half of the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  9. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture over the batter.
  10. Pour the remaining batter on top, then add the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
  11. Swirl with a knife.
  12. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  13. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chocolate chips to the batter.
  • Make sure bananas are very ripe for the best sweetness.
