- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tablespoon oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and asafoetida.
- Slowly add water and stir to form a smooth batter.
- Mix in the onions, tomatoes, and coriander leaves.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it into a round shape.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.
Notes
- Serve hot with chutney or yogurt.
- Try adding different vegetables to the batter for variation.
