Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together, adding milk until you reach your desired consistency. Spread over the cooled banana bread.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add nuts or chocolate chips to the batter.
- Make sure bananas are overly ripe for the best sweetness.
