Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  6. For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together, adding milk until you reach your desired consistency. Spread over the cooled banana bread.
